Eastern Mebon and Pre Rup Temples as well as Srah Srang and
Bantey Kdei. See the sunset over Angkor Wat from Phnom Bakheng.

but exquisite Bantey Srey, with some of the finest examples
of ancient Khmer carvings. We also visit the Bantey Samre temple.
Next we visit a local silk farm where locals receive training
in all aspects of silk production. Then we finish the day with
a sunset seen from the Western Baray (a large ancient man-made
lake) and Western Mebong Temple. Dinner at local restaurant. |

1: Phnom Penh |
| |
| Morning
arrival in Phnom Penh, meet and transfer to hotel. Lunch
at local restaurant. After lunch, we visit the National
Museum with exhibits mainly from the Angkor period (9th
to 15th centuries) but also from as early as the 4th century.
Continue to the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda. We then
visit Wat Phnom where we overlook Phnom Penh's tree-lined
avenues. Then take a walk along Phnom Penh's riverfront
where you can catch the sunset before dinner. Dinner at
local restaurant. |

2: Phnom Penh / Siem Reap and around |

| Breakfast
in hotel. Check out and transfer to airport. Flight to
Siem Reap. Transfer from Siem Reap airport to hotel for
check in. Lunch at local resaurant. In the afternoon,
we visit the temples of Srah Srang, Bantey Kdei, Chau
Say Tevoda, Thommanon, Preah Rup and the photogenic Ta
Prohm temple, left deliberately only partially restored
and being ravished by banyan trees. We finish the day
at Phnom Bakheng where we see the sunset while overlooking
Angkor Wat (Elephant ride to the top of Phnom Bakheng
is an optional extra - additional cost of around US$15
per person each way - though the hill can be climbed easily
by foot). Dinner at local restaurant with traditional
Apsara dancing show. |

3: Siem Reap and around |
| |

Breakfast at hotel. This morning we continue sightseeing
of the Angkor Complex of Angkor Thom. First we visit Angkor
Thom's South Gate then the impressive Bayon, a 'must-see'
and the next major attraction after Angkor Wat. With its
54 towers and over 200 giant stone faces you will have
the feeling you are being watched from all sides. We continue
to the Baphuon temple, the Terrace of the Elephants and
the Terrace of the Leper King, then Phimeanakas. Lunch
at local restaurant. This afternoon is dedicated to the
highlight of the tour, Angkor Wat, one of the seven wonders
of the world. Dinner at local restaurant with traditional
Apsara dancing show. |

4: Siem Reap and around |
| |
| Early
morning departure from hotel (4.20 am) to see the sunrise
over Angkor Wat at Phnom Bakheng. (Elephant ride up Bakheng
is an optional extra - additional cost around US$15 per
person - but can be climbed easily by foot.) Packed breakfast.
Now we visit the North Gate of Angkor Thom then we explore
the temple of Preah Kahn, meaing 'Sacred Sword', a wonderful
jungle temple to explore, full of passages, carvings and
many photo opportunities. Continue to Neak Pean, Ta Som
and the Eastern Mebon. Lunch at local restaurant. Check
out of hotel. This afternoon we have time for shopping
for souvenirs and we also visit the Artisans D'Angkor
workshop to see hand produced woodworking and stone carving.
We then transfer to Siem Reap airport for onward flight
to Phnom Penh. Arrive Phnom Penh and transfer to hotel
for check-in. Dinner at local restaurant. |

5: Phnom Penh / Sihanoukville |
| |
| Breakfast
at hotel and check-out. Depart by bus to the seaside town
of Sihanoukville (around 3 hour trip). Check-in to hotel.
Lunch at local restaurant. Afternoon at leisure. Relax
on the beach or swimming in the sea. Late afternoon we
take you to the mountain of 'Wat Leu' to see a seaside
sunset. Return to hotel. Dinner at local restaurant. |

6: Sihanoukville |
| |
| Breakfast
at hotel. Then we take a boat trip to one of Sihanoukville's
secluded islands where we have to time to relax on the
virgin beach or take or bath in the clear water. Picnic
Lunch. Return boat trip to Sihanoukville. Afternoon free
at leisure. Dinner at local restaurant. |

7: Sihanoukville / Phnom Penh |
| |
| Breakfast
at the Peak Hotel's Seaview restaurant. Check-out and
depart by bus to Phnom Penh. Check-in to hotel. Lunch
at local restaurant. In the afternoon we spend shopping
time at the Central Market and the Russian Market, known
its artwork and handicrafts. Sunset on the Mekong river.

on a lighter note we take a river cruise followed by a walk

| Day 2: Phnom Penh - Departure |
| |
| Breakfast in Hotel. This morning we take a 1 hour trip
west of Phnom Penh through the outlying rice paddies. We first
stop at Phnom Baset, a hilltop pagoda and temple with a reclining
Buddha statue. We continue to Oudong, the former capital of
Cambodia from the 17th century to 1866 and where several of
Cambodia's kings were crowned including the current King Norodom
Sihanouk. We climb the women's steps to see a temple ravaged
by the Khmer Rouge and then continue climbing to a newer temple
where you get a great view of the surrounding area. This a popular
place for Cambodians themselves to enjoy a day out on the weekend.
Picnic Lunch. We return to Phnom Penh to visit the Russian Market,
famous for its artwork and handicrafts. Transfer to airport
for departing flight. |
